Ryan Grantham sentenced to life imprisonment for killing mother

The actor shot his 64-year-old mother Barbara Waite dead in the back of the head on March 31, 2020 

Soon after shooting his 64-year-old mother, Ryan Grantham turned himself to police  

He has remained in custody for the past two and a half years and has been participating in a mental health program

Grantham revealed in court that he had filmed a video of his mother’s body and confessed to the killing on camera. 

He had also written about plans to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and considered committing a mass shooting  

A second-degree murder punishment was handed down by British Columbia Supreme Court on September 21 in Vancouver, though he had initially been charged with first-degree murder 

He was given a life sentence with no eligibility for parole for the first 14 years. 

The Leo Awards nominated Grantham appeared in the 2010 movie ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’, as well as stints on Supernatural, ‘iZombie’ and in ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’  

Grantham noticeably played Jeffrey Augustine on the fourth season of the soapy ‘Riverdale’ in 2019.
