Chinese President Xi Jinping Under House Arrest? The hashtag, Xi Jinping started trending on Twitter 

few reports came from China stating that President Xi Jinping has been put under house arrest by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) 

The Chinese President was in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand to attend the recently-concluded SCO summit.  

Chinese human right activist Jennifer Zeng share a video on Twitter. In the video, a few military vehicles can be seen running on a road. Zeng said the convoy was 80 km long and the rumour was that Xi Jinping had been put under house arrest. 

Reports also suggested that almost 60% of flights in China were grounded on Friday, without any explanation. However, no explanation in this regard was issued.

On social media, the Chinese Army General Li Qiaoming has taken over as the new president. 

If rumours of Xi Jinping arrest   in China comes true then there can be  a massive global stock market crash. 

XI became president in 2013. In 2018, he abolished the 10-year limit to hold the top post, which was followed by two of his predecessors, making him the party's most dominant leader since Mao Zedong.
